Photo booth networking: local network or internet?

Alex: “If the venue has no Wi-Fi, will my iPad still print?”

Maya: “It can. The iPad and supported print server need a local network so they can reach each other. Internet is separate: it is used by online galleries, sharing, syncing and other cloud features.”

Alex: “So a router makes the DS620 wireless?”

Maya: “No. A router provides networking; it does not turn a USB printer into an AirPrint printer. The DS620 still connects to a compatible print server or computer, such as a supported DNP WCM Plus or Windows Print.Events setup.”

Alex: “Could I use venue Wi-Fi?”

Maya: “Test your own arrangement first. Public networks may isolate devices. Prepare the event online, then test capture, printing and queued sharing with the connectivity you expect on site.”
