Printing from an iPad to a DNP DS620: what connects to what?

Jamie: “Can I connect an iPad straight to a DNP DS620 with a USB-C hub?”

Chris: “No. An ordinary USB cable or hub is not the printing route. The DS620 connects to a compatible print server or computer, and the iPad sends the job to that system over the local network.”

Jamie: “Which middle device should I look at?”

Chris: “Booth.Events documents dedicated servers such as DNP WCM Plus and AirCastPro, Windows Print.Events, and macOS printer sharing. DNP lists the DS620 for WCM Plus, but check the current compatibility list for every exact model.”

Jamie: “Does it all need internet?”

Chris: “Local networking and internet access are separate. Correctly connected local printing can work without internet; galleries, queued sharing and cloud features need connectivity. A router alone does not turn a USB printer into an AirPrint printer. Printers, routers and accessories are package-specific.”
